-
What was your overall opinion of the book?
I found it a bit of a slog to start, a proper slow burn, but once it got going it really really flew!
-
What was your favourite moment/scene in the book?
The cinema scene, which was basically the pivotal moment for their attraction to each other, was really special.
-
Which character did you like best/most identify with?
Iriiiis. Even though she’s got her own book I resonated with her after the Jillian debacle.
-
Did any themes or messages in the book change your perspective on anything?
Not particularly.
-
How did the author’s writing style impact your reading experience?
AHB writes nicely, even if the beginning felt like it dragged a bit. The story wasn’t too much of a chore but it still had some complex and important elements which I liked.
-
Was this book relatable to you in any way?
Only in that brief moment when Astrid was questioning her sexuality. Except it happened to me about 8 years ago rather than in my 30s.
-
What is the one thing about this book you will remember, even a year from now?
The library scene for sure. I also can’t stop thinking about when Jordan said “I saw this on Etsy and thought of you” which is so gay it’s funny.
-
How likely would you be to recommend the book to someone else? (use a sliding scale of 1-5 if easier)
4. I enjoyed it once it got going!
